I started working the Dispatch Floor in March of 1995 at the City of Chattanooga. At that point I learned the skills of answering 9-1-1 Emergency Calls, NCIC Operations, Chattanooga Police Dispatch, and Chattanooga Fire Dispatch.
Telecommunicator Emergency Response Taskforce, commonly referred to as TERT, is a group of Telecommunicators who seek to go above and beyond the training for a typical telecommunicator. With that being said, not being part of TERT does not mean one does not have the skills to do so - each person must want to be a part of the TERT team, and some feel they do not have the time needed to invest into the team to be a productive team member.
